OWLS They're everywhere

I am sure you have noticed, included in this years hot items for decorating are OWLS !! They're everywhere. I have always loved them because they remind me of my Grandma Reynolds who had a very large collection in her home. I was lucky enough to get this Tea for Two set that she had years ago when I went to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to visit my Aunt Nola and Uncle Dean.

This year I was inspired to decorate with an Autumnal theme after finding my hutch, (posted Separated At Birth) and the abundance of owls available. I don't always change my table scape's with the seasons, but couldn't resist when I found these...

Who could pass this pair up? I found them at TJMAXX, my favorite store!!! I gathered up everything I already owned that could possible add to my Fall theme. In one hour I transformed my home into Autumn bliss. Here is the end result!!

Who would have thought, so much inspiration from an owl!

I can't wait until Christmas!!

Bull Skull Picture

A couple of weeks ago my mom and I were out shopping at estate sales. We were pretty excited because when you go to estate sales they are very hit or miss! That particular day was a hit! We were finding all kinds of goodies. One of the last stops we made was by far the best sale of the day. We found an awesome old suit case, a few mason jars, a cheese grater (earring holder), and the bull skull picture. I saw the picture out of the corner of my eye and had to go get a better look. The picture was $1.25. I had no idea what I was going to do with it but for $1.25 I had to buy it.

On our way home, we were trying to think what kind of frame I could use. We were either going to have to buy one or make one. I wanted a frame made out of barn wood. Luckily, my step dad is a genius. Recently, we had to replace part of our fence and Jerry kept the old wood. We are talking old wood that looks like barn wood!! Win.
This weekend Jerry was feeling crafty so he made me an awesome frame for my picture.

 It turned out PERFECT!!
Thank you JERRY!!

GOW

Life is a Cabernet Old Friend

If you appreciate wine as much as I do, I know you will love this red blend I found for a great every day wine!!  I don't know about you but at the end of  the day a glass of wine is just the right remedy for a calm evening. My friends and I  love a little self therapy over  what we call a  GOW ??  (glass of wine).  What time and where... Usually by 3:00 or 3:30 someone is texting  GOW?? The answer is  always yes.  We all take turns hosting our therapy sessions and as any wine connoisseur can attest too it can get expensive.   I was shopping at Sam's Club last month and found this wonderful red blend.  Wait for it ...$6.00!!  Who can beat that!! It is smooth but ends with a faint peppery taste.   Perfect with a bowl of chips.  (another must have at therapy)  So the next time you need a self -help session to realize you are not alone in this crazy world we call life... Try relative by JOEL GOFF    California Red Table Wine.
